New features have been incorporated into the standard Verid fingerprint verification unit since its launch in late 1998, making it easier to install and operate, including :

RS485 Networking.

Automatic Configuration. To add a new Verid to an existing network simply install the unit and switch on the power. The unit will immediately adopt the configuration of the other units on the network, receive the complete template database and be ready to use. Setting up a new network of Verids could not be more easy. Simply wire up the units, configure one of them using Verid manager software and the rest will automatically be correctly set.

Template Transfer. As soon as a new user is enrolled onto a Verid unit the fingerprint template is automatically transferred to all other Verids on the network. There is no longer a need to synchronise databases or make manual transfers of templates.

Individual Security Thresholds. Verid units now offer the option of setting individual security thresholds. Not only can the system manager define a setting for each unit, different thresholds can be set for each individual user, thus giving the operator greater flexibility.

Verid's unique and patented auto-correlation process results in a small fingerprint template which can be stored on a single track of a magnetic stripe card.
