The most obvious application for Verid is any system which requires evidence that the PIN number presented (by keypad or card) is presented by the valid person - eg high security access control systems
In the retail and pharmacy sector, protection of stockrooms and storerooms and drug rooms is vital in the fight against staff theft. For example, in December 2000, the NSW Retail Traders Association estimated that staff theft was costing NSW retailers AUS $2 million a day - this translates into 1.5 to 3 percent of turnover!! Unfortunately most of the impact of staff theft in Australia falls on the shoulders of small businesses with 10 to 20 employees.
